  • Greatcoat. Like, the massive soviet-style ones. They defeat the winter, thick wool is also pretty waterproof if you don’t mind leaving it to dry and they’re way more breathable than you might think, I can wear mine when it’s 18-20°C. They take a lot of abuse too, multiple hikes and urbex behind mine and it’s still smart

  • Pretty much all second hand semi-formal stuff. I’m kinda fond of blazers but I hate super fitted modern suits, I’ve always thought they look bland/tacky and bougie as hell, so I generally go for a kind of “dressed-down vintage” look. Basically everything I wear is thrifted or surplus (it definitely looks more expensive than it is), but I get more compliments than some soulless overpriced branded stuff would. Honestly, I think the only non-charity shop or years old thing I have is this jacket, I usually pair it with a trenchcoat or jumper. When I’m not wearing this, I have a khaki jacket-thing I did a few alterations to that pretty much looks like something papa Joe would wear lmao, and an 80s czechoslovak fur parka (really helps with the winters here). I’m not really sure what “style” I have, but I’ve been called homeless and dapper an equal number of times lol. Ig, to the extent I’ve thought about it, I prefer clothes that are practical and a little more interesting. It’s definitely worth spending a bit on something good and making it last years, but I’ll avoid highstreet brands and go second hand wherever I can.
