Shout out to Jorginho, he played very well today. Most of the guys did, with Fast Gabi being the deciding factor.
This win has definitely exorcized some demons for us.
Kovacic should have been sent off after that foul on Rice. Shit refereeing, as per usual.
This adds a lot of useful context. I know a lot of us were wondering why he wasn’t playing more, even when he was physically capable. If it was more psychological that would explain it. Great news that he’s found a good head space. Hope he gets a lot of play time, because we’ve all seen what he’s capable of.
That’s a great point. It does usually take a long time, doesn’t it. Hopefully the media attention will fast-track things in this case. But it probably won’t.
Authorities said while the officer was taking McDonald to jail, she said that her actions were done as a test to see if the child’s father “gave a f–k at all,” adding she waterboarded her baby to try and make Neal come back to the apartment.
So she decided to extend the toxic relationship she has with her child’s father to their child. WTAF?! What an absolute piece of shit person.
I read the article hoping to see that she had lost all rights to the child. But nothing about that was mentioned. So she probably hasn’t lost any parental rights.
My 10 year old can be quite volatile and prone to meltdowns. So I’ve taken to rick-rolling him whenever possible in these situations. Weirdly, it’s a pretty good way of defusing a charged situation.
The line “you know the rules, and so do it” is especially good because I can build it into a counterpoint about his behavior that led to the argument. It took him a while for him to realize what I was doing, but now he knows and it’s become kind of an inside joke.
So not only does it usually help calm things down, but I get to troll him.
That would be nice.
(Sorry, I couldn’t resist.)
Holy shit, his trap of that high ball was sublime!
“Gabi at the back, Gabis in attack”
Moon - really good psychological element and great acting.
Pandorum - fun (and a bit hammy) action horror romp.
Twelve Monkeys - really tight and suspenseful plot with great acting.
Being John Malcovich - not sure if this fits in, but a great mind-bender of a sci-fi movie.
Bless the Maker and His water.
The Legends of Dune trilogy was a weird one for me. The overall plot was decent, and some chapters and characters were intriguing. But there was so much fluff and annoying duplication in there. I assume the decent wiring and plot points came from Anderson, but maybe that’s unfair on Brian Herbert.
I don’t understand why Martinelli’s goal was ruled offside. Nketiah was in an offside position on the right when the pass was made out to Martinelli’s on the left, but he wasn’t interfering with play throughout the entire process. Have they changed the rules again?
Edit: oh I see how. Eddie was outside before he flicked the ball back to Vieira who then threaded it through you Martinelli.
Everton fans know they are in deep deep shit this season when we are beating them at Goodison. Given their squad, their form, and their resources, I don’t see how they can stay up.
Yeah, that’s how I’m seeing it too. But I get where the assumption that he’s dropping under-performing players comes from - because traditionally he does not rotate them.
Hopefully he’ll start doing that more now. We can challenge for the title better if we aren’t running 10 or so players into exhaustion and injury every match, and instead we are giving more play time to the other talented guys we have in our squad.
True. And the fact that he keeps picking Antony over Sancho (who isn’t fantastic but is better than Antony) makes me question his judgement.
But hey, if he keeps the clusterfuck rollercoaster going at Yanaited then hey, that’s fine with me!
Yeah that matches with what I was reading this morning. Ode (obviously), Fast Gabby, Big Gabby, and Eddie.
And yes, I imagine Rice will almost certainly join them once he’s settled in a bit more.
Bit surprised to see Eddie in there, but fair play to the lad. Apparently the evidence for him being in there was that he captained the side in one of the Emirates Cup matches, and then he took over as captain against Fulham towards the end of that match.
Was the referee in the Spurs v Sheffield match doing the old “keep playing until Spurs get back into it” approach?
Satisfying to see Man United get drubbed at home. Brighton is always a dangerous team, but they really stepped up today. Haag still has a lot of work to do (assuming they don’t fire him first).
Great find.
Seems like Theo’s love of Arsenal is only matched by his hatred of Spurs. Him saying he would do that famous celebration against the spuds while he was being stretched off again in a heartbeat was fantastic to hear.
And the comment about Chris Waddle saying Theo didn’t have a footballing brain… that really sums up what a shit pundit Waddle was/is.
Ah yes, the ‘Sinema Doctrine’!
We as a community need to step it up with quality content here. That goes for me too. We are too reliant on Astrealix for content, and I don’t think it’s fair on them and a couple of others to carry so much of the load.
Also, we should share our quality content on c/football. There’s too much bias spud shit appearing on there now. God knows why anyone supports that perpetually failing clown show of a club in the first place. But they seem to have an active core or Lemmy users who are doing that. Let’s step up fellow gooners!
