  • Dude, that’s sounds great. Thank you for taking the plunge. It’s a very nice melody. Definitely in the folk vibe, I can envision an old sailor sitting on a dock playing this an staring at the moon. Have you tried singing that poem along with your music? It actually seems to fit.

  • Thanks for your response. I do this because songaweek really helped me get started with songwriting after years of trying and I want to give others that experience. I just kept putting too much pressure on myself to write a great song. I finally was able to get something done when I just let all that go. Most weeks I don’t really have a full song, but it’s enough to get something out there. Feel free to PM is you want to go deeper into the process.

    [I want to](rock)[Not Themed]

This song started as themed but morphed lyrically into something else. You gotta go with the artistic flow, so not themed. Once I stopped trying to force it things flowed a little more. There’s still some bits that I want to change: rerecord the chorus so that “Grace” is changed to “Lord” and maybe have the chorus become a bridge and create a new chorus.

  • [Gonna Sin](Rock)[Themed]

Here it is warts and all. I recently got a new guitar (mustang copy) and it’s got a Kurt Cobain vibe to it so I went with it. Not my usual sound but it was fun. Yesterday I started wanting to scrap this song and start a new one because I was that into it. I’m glad it didn’t because there are some nice bits in the song that I like. Maybe I’ll revisit this one someday, but tomorrow it’s onto the next song.
