Endurance is an older nonfiction book from the 1960s about a ship that gets stuck in Antarctica. Despite sounding nothing like The Martian, it’s very similar - they’re both wholesome survival stories that focus on the “how”, rather than the “drama”.

Wut
Your engagement is more important to them than your message. So yeah, I’d rather not have it 🤷
Edit: pretty sure the very large social media company already expected people to create stuff like this before they opened r/place, and they decided it was worth it. So yeah I’m still gonna say that if they let this type of messaging happen it’s not gonna matter in the slightest. I don’t think they’re that stupid like y’all do.
Sadly, that’s sounds very intentional
Oh yep you’d be correct I haven’t figured that part out yet on lemmy. I now totally see what you’re saying
I see the US part… the liberal thing feels like an enemy you just constructed so you could look cool hitting it
Edit: I’m a goober with little understanding of lemmy or world politics, please read comment below for more insight
The app is like, brand new… u just hating today
Young American here, I blame SCOTUS, GOP, and social media tbh.
Ok you need to go back and edit your first comment to reflect your thoughts. I read your first comment and was all “what the hell is this person trying to say” and then read this comment and I was like “OHH that’s actually a well-written comment, I see what they’re trying to say”
80% of these are gonna be Lord of the Rings lmao
I just finished Endurance, a pretty fun classic nonfiction about a dangerous trans-Antarctica trip. I think it’s pretty well known but I hadn’t heard of it until I read it.
It’s a joke
