I have a MacBook in my closet I can’t use at all because of an Nvidia integrated GPU. I’ve had nothing but problems with their shitty software too. Never had a single problem since I switched to AMD, and it was wayyyy cheaper. Your issue sounds like PEBCAK to me.

You know opencl AMD installations have problems if you have previously installed Nvidia software? So it sounds like your experience with AMD may have been soured by NVIDIA actually, and then you went out and gave them more money.

Honestly I think I’d make that trade. At least if they lived they would have a house, family and kids to come home to. And a lifetime of prosperity. I’d trade a few horrible years for that. Either way I wouldn’t have to live an entire lifetime struggling for everything.

The performance is not the same. Games will always run slightly worse on Proton. Pretending there are no negatives is just crazy.

I love Proton as much as the next guy, but it’s no replacement for natively supported games.

It’s just a band aid. It’s not a solution.
