Huh. Tankies posting questionable far-right sources. Shocking.

Could just be the schools that I’ve gone to, could be some weird thing that the US does that no one else does (kinda like SI v. metric).
No; adjunct faculty can also rightly be called professor without having achieved a doctorate. I’ve had a few professors that had BAs and MFAs (esp. since I’m not sure that there are PhD programs for fine arts).
I was being serious. She made art history–which is normally a fairly dry subject, particularly when you’re covering art before 1100CE–a really fun and engaging subject.
I had an art history professor that insisted on being called doctor; she said she’d put in a lot of time and spent a lot of money to get that degree, and so she wanted to get her money’s worth.
She was a lot of fun.
…You’re really saying that one party where you have no functional choice is better than a multi-party system, just because you think that Republicans and Dems are too alike, while ignoriing the plethora of other parties that not only actually exist in the US, but hold office at local and state level?
Shouldn’t expect any more from a tankie though.
And how many parties were they allowed to make selections from? Were there any candidates that weren’t pre-approved by the leading party?
I wonder, do you think that the people that are being “re-educated” are counted as prison population…?
I suppose that when you simply kill or disappear people that are political dissenters that you don’t have to worry about that prison population
The problem with China being that it’s authoritarian, not that it’s capitalist or communist. There’s no choice other than the Communist Party, so when the party is wildly corrupt, you have no recourse at all short of revolution. And we all know what China does to counter-revolutionaries.
Well, that’s why I specified fixie rather than single speed. 🙂 I’m not a fan of single speeds since they’re inefficient, but they’re not inherently unsafe, and I’m not going to tell people that they’re suicidally stupid if they ride one.
Any “creative” spelling of a common name.
e.g., Jahnithun.
Or a gay porn actor. No in between options.
Article cites Steven Crowder–who should generally not be considered to be credible–as a source. While Crowder and the article claim that it’s been authenticated, other, more credible news sources, say that police have refused to say that it’s authentic.
I’m going to wait until this hits a credible source that that actually authenticates things.
That could definitely do that. Had that happen to my GTI; I pulled over as soon as I was able to and parked the car. I checked on an OBD II reader, and the light and shaking was caused by misfiring. I replaced all the coil packs, cleared the code, and it’s been fine since.
I’ve replaced the engine in an '06 Civic Si after the timing chain lifter tensioner failed, the timing skipped, and the valves kissed the pistons.
It also ended up having some pretty gnarly electrical issues.
Hand tools are fine 99%. Cutting tools–the part that actually does the cutting–are usually fine. Power tools are very hit or miss. Like, I would definitely not buy any cordless or corded tools there. Air tools are generally okay, but don’t work as well as other, more expensive air tool brands. OTOH, I’ve used a Harbor Freight flooring stapler that failed in under a day of use, while the Husky branded stapler did just fine for a few years. Impact sockets are good, although they’re limited on sizes (I don’t think that they have anything bigger than 22mm). I’ve been using a Harbor Freight floor jack and jack stands for a few years now without issue.
For a $200 bike, it’s never going to work the way it’s intended to work. ANY bike you buy at a department store–and many that you buy at general sporting goods stores–will be garbage. In 1995, the rule of thumb was to spend at least $500 on a bike to get something that you could realistically ride every single day; that’s about $1000 today.
I’m saying this as someone that worked at bike stores as a mechanic off and one over about 15 years; the cheap dept. store bikes someply can’t be fixed and adjusted to work the way that their owners expect.
(PS - yes, fixies are cheap and light. No, you should not under any circumstances ride them on public streets or trails. If you do, sooner or later you will have a serious accident that will involve stitches, broken bones, possibly surgery, and probably rehab.)
…And yet, the Enterprise is armed. If power does not come from the ability to effectively use violence, but from some other means, then why would the Federation arm it’s flagship?
CNN is mostly factual, and is left-biased. It’s not a great site or channel. If you want minimal bias and highly factual reporting, you have to go with independent groups like Reuters.
Lol, “lib brained”. I’m an anarchist, and have been for decades.
