I’m from one of the countries the USSR did their imperialism on so I’m definitely going to take issue with your assertion that they benefitted their people more than any other country. They benefitted the people in Russia by draining resources from satellite states. By iron fist I mean the people who spoke out against their regime were either executed outright, worked to death or near death. And by corruption I mean any wealth went straight into the pockets of party leaders and members.
Also why does everyone who defend the USSR go into US bad dialogue tree instantly? Like I really don’t give shit about the US and I’m sure it’s bad too, but that completely irrelevant. At least the US doesn’t generally outright annex countries to do imperialism.
No, taxes are quite helpful to maintain public infrastructure for example. What I’m saying is that every time one of those transitory governments have popped up the leadership ends up ruling the population with an iron fist and horrible corruption that has benefitted mostly the ruling party and rarely anyone else. The problem with those transitory step countries is that it has a ruling class with very different class interests and the same money funneling just like in a capitalist state which basically guarantees that they will never be socialist.
Apartments are about 40 000 for like a really tiny one, around 100 000 for a 50 m2 one. Median income is like 2200 euros per month.
The US has like the worst election system and it needs to change but that change will not happen if fascists are in power. The only option you guys have is vote for the lesser of two evils and organize and gather support while they are in power. First step would be getting ranked voting passed locally in my opinion. The alternative is just being the ideologically purest in a death camp. And besides voting is pretty easy even in the US from what I heard.
If you add pollution caused by large companies as another column here then the personal responsibility lines would not even be 1 pixel in height. Climate change is not something that can be fixed by personal change.

Most landlords are like massive corporations, if all the property your corporation owned suddenly exploded it may rise a few eyebrows. Someone’s rich aunt renting their second summer home isn’t having that much of a detrimental effect on the housing market as corpos buying up all available housing.

I’d suggest starting with a distro that very user friendly. Pop OS was the distro that made me ditch windows completely. I could also recommend Manjaro, it’s almost as user friendly but it has AUR which basically let’s you install stuff from github directly if a package isn’t available (For example xpadneo is basically a requirement if you use a controller with Bluetooth and it’s only in github). I haven’t had to open a terminal with Manjaro since the first install.

Seems apartments the same size and location are still in the 80 000 - 110 000 euro range. Renting is not very common here so I can’t find anything comparable.
There are still countries with affordable housing like here I bought an apartment for 90 000 euros a few years ago. I was renting it before for 450 euros. It’s in the capital next to a park.
As for the places where people can’t afford a home: I think climate change will take care of that. Once we get events where death without a home is guaranteed the math will change and people will just break into and squat in the empty homes. Once that becomes popular enough something has to change or a whole lot of people will die when evicted, I don’t think any country can handle that PR disaster.
Yea, I’m currently using Wayland because Manjaro comes with it but like 90% of the programs I use launch with xwayland anyway. I’m not a developer but can’t they just give it proper support for all programs? Like run those programs like they do on X11. Seems pointless if nothing works on it.
Not to mention my laptop with Nvidia graphics, that is just so broken on Wayland I ended up switching it to X11 and I’m very lazy.
