Yeah, as far as I’m aware, it just runs a copy of the NewPipeExtractor locally, that’s the same stuff that’s used in the Piped backend.
You can also disable the Piped proxy at Settings -> Instance -> Disable Piped proxy
That’s understandable
A good laptop running a stable and gaming-optimized distro like Bazzite with a good controller connected to it should be as good, if not better than the Steam Deck.
No, you can’t connect to official servers. But there is some online functionality and you can play together locally or over the internet.
It works pretty well for me. I don’t have any problems on piped.video, piped.adminforge.de and piped.ngn.tf
You can also just disable the Piped proxy in the settings, effectively making it function like NewPipe
The only thing you’ll be missing is lack of Internet features and the GUI.
You can even run the Switch UI in Suyu (or other forks of Yuzu): https://youtube.com/watch?v=rOLoVZ_br9M
And both Ryujinx, as well as Yuzu (and Forks) offer local/online multiplayer:

May you have a delightful meal.
Thanks ;)
You can find the full list of instances here, and the list shows whether a CAPTCHA is present on an instance or not
God damn, just use LibreTube. It has a sleep timer, as well as many other advantages: No ads, no tracking, it uses the Piped API so you don’t have to connect to Google servers, and it’s fully open source and available on F-Droid: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.github.libretube/
They’re also on Mastodon and they even have a Lemmy community: !libretube@feddit.rocks
Thanks mate, this is really awesome! Will definitely try it out. Many people might find this useful, consider making a separate post about it. I created a community for UnifiedPush and related topics: !unifiedpush@lemmy.dbzer0.com, you’re welcome to post there.
The app is completely open source: https://github.com/LeanderBB/you-have-mail
Your login data is only stored locally on your device, and used to log in to your Proton account. It’s not sent to a third-party server. This is totally fine.
Well, almost every Linux distro includes Firefox. Maybe that’s where these downloads are coming from?
My main browser is LibreWolf. I occasionally the Mullvad Browser or Tor. Mull is my favorite on mobile.
Mull is really great, +1
I don’t know, maybe it’s just particularly bad where I live, but I regularly have to the the god damn Schienenersatzverkehr, and even this god damn fucking bus that is supposed to replace the train is always like 20 minutes late. Like how the fuck do you even mess that up DB? HOW?!
It seems like you’ve never been to Germany
I recommend NextDNS, it allows you to block ads, trackers and other unwanted stuff on the DNS level. Check out this video: https://neat.tube/w/19r4YnE6fpce6e2B9MepnB
