You can eat any of them, though some may kill you if you do :)
The first one is a morel, and the black one (also edible) is a black trumpet. Others may be edible, I’m not sure. The frog mushroom (Amanita muscaria) is supposed to be very poisonous, but there is an episode of Hamilton’s Pharmacopoeia where he finds a man who eats them regularly. (This is not me suggesting you eat them yourself, just an interesting tid bit, mushrooms are weird)
Personally, there are some smaller communities that exist on Reddit that just don’t exist on Lemmy, or have inactive communities. The other option for some of those communities is Twitter, so I’d much rather just check Reddit. I also don’t expect my local towns subreddit to move to Lemmy from Reddit. I think it’s less about returning to Reddit and more so wanting to participate in small communities that exist in Reddit.
Lol he did it intentionally and she was a photographer for the concert. There’s a video of it you can see. He’s clearly being a dick. You shouldn’t be expected to get kicked in the face at a rock show???
That’s fair. Fwiw that’s the main reason I tried to avoid kindle, so I would be able to take my library where i want and not be tied to Amazon
I’m pretty sure it’s a $30 dollar charge, from when I last looked into it. For that exact price difference you can get a Kobo, which isn’t Amazon and doesn’t have ads
I would assume since it was a block of raw text in Ukrainian in a translation file, it would have passed more under the radar than something like a backdoor. I do not know how things are reviewed before being pushed to release though.
I want to be able to unlock the appearance and accessories of my characters.
I miss the ability to have skins being unlocked through quests/challenges. I occasionally play Apex and it feels like the skins would be more impactful if they were actually hard to get. To get a legendary skin you should have to do something legendary, not just open a box. Like imagine you see the person with the skin, unlocked from getting 20 kills on that character in a match with both teammates dead. (I understand there are skins that upgrade on kills but that’s a pretty boring linear achievement). Instead it’s just paint with arbitrary rarity, that requires no mastering to unlock.
So let’s give the companies that have lied about the harms and effects of their product a heads up? They never gave people who died of cancer when they knew it caused cancer but denied it. Moving the age will just give the time for the business owners to get more of the money out and fuck over the smaller employees anyways.
I honestly think there is no solution that doesn’t have negative effects. I’m personally very against the banning of something (especially a plant) as a solution to a problem as it creates plenty more problems (see America’s drug problems)
A very important aspect that I think people overlook is that they use similar/same marketing photos of the food on their menu. That’s not advertising, maybe that’s what they will argue. If I look at a menu and they have a picture of the food, I’m going to expect I get what I see (within a margin) vs when I see an advertisement I expect it to be a bit hyperbolic.
They just need to outlaw the commercial production of cigarettes. I’m very anti cigarette personally, but at the end of the day, tobacco is a plant and should not be outlawed. But outlawing commercial products it makes tobacco legal and accessible to those who want it. With commercial cigarettes being less available, in guessing through either lack of convenience or lack of ability to act on an impulse, that the amount of smokers will drop.
Why can’t people make what they want to make
Because it’s companies who are making these games not people. They own the rights to make Star Wars games so they can and will. An indie developer can’t make the game they may want to make because they don’t own the rights. I think it’s human nature to get angry at a company that isn’t treating an IP you like with respect.
That being said I totally agree with you though, people definitely take these things so personally. All you have to do is just not buy it. It’s obvious these companies make remakes because people buy them, you then have this weird situation where the community is split between enjoying and hating.
Ah, the racist Frankenstein’s monster has worshippers everywhere
When you accuse some of racism and then proceed to judge them based on how they look it makes you look no better. Maybe be a good way to have conversation is to not make yourself look like an ass.
He held a black jogger at gunpoint because he fit the description.
How is it racist? Wouldn’t it be racist if he didn’t fit the description? I don’t really have context on what happened, but from what you said there’s nothing seemingly racist about it.
their database is built incredibly poorly (what idiot decided that different seasons of one TV show should have entirely separate listings in the database, often making it hard to find?!).
Likely this is legacy from when you would buy each season as a DVD set
I’m curious what features that Calibre was missing for reading that you are looking for specifically? I know that it’s got some pretty standard features built in, though I’ve never used it to read, only to check files before sending to eReader.
From what I recall it has to do with encoding and how the data stored references the following frame but not previous. Still seems like some engineering could be done to solve, so it it’s not as simple as “current Frame–”
I hate that Minecraft is one of the two things I even need a Microsoft Account for.
So if Microsoft published a Unity developed game on Windows, Microsoft could easily charge a $0.20 free to the unity team for installing the Unity Runtime on their OS.
Not being completely serious there. Honestly thought, did the CEO not realize if they start doing this, what’s to stop another company from doing that to them. Things like mp3, where developers need to pay a license for, could then be charged in a similar fashion for each install.
read the menu instead of looking at the advertisements
The issue is most fast food restaurants use the advertisement photos on the menu. Sorta leads the customer to believe that’s what they are getting (with some tolerance).
If the Dev were to take, for example the x,y position of the player and convert that to a key, then there would not be any bundled key. This could allow specific conditions to be met without specifying the key or solution. Truthfully though, I don’t know much about AES to know if that’s possible.
