I think he massively downplayed how much the US benefits from this proposal. The US gets to economically colonize Ukraine and seize control of gas infrastructure and production, send the profits home, and make everyone else play for it.
Also, “Trump wants to make America great again” lmfao no he fucking doesn’t. Trump is a venture capitalist who’s only goal is to extract the most amount of value for himself. The US’s part in the war is just leverage to Trump, for extracting resources from Russia/Ukraine/Europe. The US will not support any peace deal where it can’t profit.
Yeah, plundering Ukraine is basically a stated policy by the US. That’s what the mineral deal was all about.
Of course the US isn’t being discreet about it, which makes it all the more weird that it’s going unsaid.
I agree, like there’s an obvious reason for Trump to want to normalize relations with Russia to get access to resources. Now that it’s obvious that Russia is winning, that’s the only route for getting in on that action.
