On the flip side, of the many laws passed this last session in Minnesota, one was for automatic voter registration beginning at age 16. The other great one is if you request a mail-in ballot, you can join that list permanently and will continue to receive one for all future elections without needing to request it again.
This is the case in California — I can’t remember when I first requested an absentee ballot, but now I just get one before every election, along with a voter guide, with ample time to fill it out. It just…works.

I don’t know why the US still doesn’t have a simple and permanent voting registration. Or better yet, to not even have to register to vote.
They want to disenfranchise people so they keep power illegitimately.
Because Republicans wouldn’t win as many elections if everyone was able to easily vote.

You don’t have to request an absentee ballot in California. The state automatically mails ballots to all Registered voters.
