An appealing nickname for the dull atlanticist, Deadly Freddy Mars. When the conversation turned to D-Day, the mispronunciation became the least of the diplomatic awkwardness.
“May I remind you tomorrow is June 6, the D-day anniversary when the Americans once ended a war in Europe,” Merz told the President. Trump, in his characteristic bumbling manner, responded that D-Day was “not a pleasant day for you… This was not a great day.”
