Everyone is free to do whatever they want with their lives but remember that not everyone is suddenly gay. I think the project doesn’t need to stuff any gender ideology to thrive.

Probably to show support and maybe it acts as a repellent for anti-LGBT folk as a bonus.
But I wonder if there are closeted people that would prefer not to display LGBT symbols on their phone in order to stay undercover/safe.
Nothing says “Stay out of my DMs, homophobes!” like an animated rainbow emoji as your phone background.
