Hi, I think it would be nice to do an AMA here for people having questions about Venezuela, as a way to bring this sub back to live.
I’m a Venezuelan, who lives in Venezuela near the Colombian border, working at a public institution.
This might be helpful for people having questions about the current state of Venezuela.
Is the economic situation as bad as portrayed in the media? How do you think it can be fixed?
que onda que me decis puto gil ahr
Is not as bad as they wanna make it look, but depends on where you live, but certainly is not like the entire country is starving, we had a huge recovery since 2019/2018 but there are still make inequalities.
Many of the things that could be done internally to fix the situation are already done, like eliminating restrictions, importing and currency exchange. We still have some of that but years ago having a single dollar was like some unwritten crime.
Most of the reason why we still don’t fully recover are sanctions, and many countries still wont have any deals with Venezuela, so we’re stuck to having deals with despicable governments like Russia and Iran.
