Posts from my lemmy.ml account aren’t showing up on mastodon or other instances, it seems.

See https://lemmy.ml/post/1310309?scrollToComments=true in !test and it’s view on mastodon: https://hachyderm.io/@maegul/110558255516579364.

The post was created from mastodon, but my replies from lemmy do not show up on mastodon.

Similarly, a post from my lemmy.ml account to startrek.website doesn’t seem to show up on the communities own page (see my post here: https://lemmy.ml/post/1308557 and the startrek community here sorted by new: https://startrek.website/c/startrek/data_type/Post/sort/New/page/1).

Same seems to also be true for comments.

This might be related to the “subscription pending” issue (which I have for startrek.website communities)?

Either there are blocks I’m not aware of, a bug with my account, or federation is just broken right now??

EDIT: created an account on startrek.website and replied to the post on !test linked above. The reply shows up here on lemmy.ml and on mastodon, but none of my replies from lemmy.ml show up either on startrek.webpage or mastodon. Same goes for upvotes.

Truly seems that the federation is broken or unreliable right now for lemmy.ml? A bunch of people are trying to talk but speaking only into the void.

EDIT2: Checking my lemmy.ml profile from kbin.social, and none of my posts to startrek.website show up in the list of my posts??

EDIT2: Used my kbin.social account to subscribe to !startrek@startrek.website and make a post. No problems at all: no “subscription pending” and the post seems to have federated just fine (see https://startrek.website/post/32387). Kinda funky when kbin can federate with a lemmy server better than the lemmy flagship.

Thought it may have been a regression from the 0.18.0 backend, but they’re still using 0.17.4, like many other instances. I don’t think it’s a software bug affecting every installation, maybe the server is overloaded or there has been a network issue.
