I’m currently locked in a PBEM struggle on War in the East 2 (It’s playing out on YouTube if you want the link!)

Started a West German campaign in Flashpoint Campaigns.

Defending in a War in the West campaign.

Failing badly at Decisive Campaigns: Barbarossa

…and playing a casual Wildermyth game (not a war game, but meh)

What are you folks into these days?

It’s been a while since I’ve played any games, but the Vox Populi mod for Civ 5 improves the game so much it’s basically a new one now. Literally spent 700 hours on a game that cost me 15 bucks because of a free mod. The Historical Immersion Project mod for Crusader Kings 2 really helps out with non-French-Catholic mechanics in that game too, if you like those.

Also technically not a traditional War Game, Battle for Wesnoth is a FOSS tactics game similar to Final Fantasy Tactics and Fire Emblem. I didn’t really enjoy the campaign due to turncount limits, but it’s really good to play PvP.

The Vox Populi mod looks interesting, and looks like a rabbit hole I might fall down when I have some downtime. I own CKII, but haven’t opened it in years (steam tells me since 2018!), so maybe that’s another one I should dive in to.

I haven’t had much luck with mods…well specifically Black Ice for HOI 3, but since it’s been ages since I played either of these, it might be worth a try.
