What happened with hexbear?
You comrades are always welcome here, as far as I’m concerned.
DNS expired and the admins had made no migration plan because another admin, that had dissapeared, (who had the key) apparently pinky promised to hand it over but never did, nobody did anything until the site got seized and auctioned, it is currently stuck in a bidding war, going for 600 or so dollars and we don’t have that kind of money. so in every way other than spirit, hexbear dot net is dead.
Hexbear was a USAID psyop all along.

They did ask people from Hexbear if it was okay to do it and some people cheered it on, probably ironically and not thinking it would actually happen. That user was from lemmy.ml, though, if I recall. It was some other instance.

Someone submitted a FOIA on Hexbear to the FBI.
It did not matter whatsoever. Either the FBI cares and already knew about the site, or they don’t and didn’t.

how did you edit your display name? i want to add my pronouns but it won’t save for some reason, maybe cause i’m too new of an account?
I just went to settings, wrote my pronouns in my display name, and hit save. I think I also had some trouble but if I remember correctly it just fixed itself within a short while.
