The pollution levels in Ottawa are 10x higher than the WHO recommended limit, it literally looks like that Mexico filter they use in movies outside.

As someone living in the Pacific Northwest, we deal with this every year and have seen no change in behavior around climate change. I’m honestly glad the rest of the country has to experience this, especially Washington DC. Maybe we’ll finally see some real action on climate change now.

Last night was horrific here in NYC (still not great now). I’d invest in an air purifier right now if you don’t have one already

edit: drastically worse than yesterday now.

Chicagoland here. We’ve been getting air quality sheets for the past 1.5-2 weeks

Except we need rain! But yeah - no smog/smoke that i can see. although i wonder if yesterday’s cloud cover had something to do with the wildfires.

We are in an apocalypse of sorts, its just the slow motion kind that unfolds over decades, long enough for people to try to ignore it. Things get a little more hard to ignore when the sky is brown and the sun in red.

I wish we did more prescribed burns up here. Things just get to a tipping point and then it’s insanity.
