“We are still in favor of cooperation and friendship.”

      Sounds like a real bootlicker.

Give me one example of a NATO bootlicker telling the truth. Those words are a meaningless to dress in silk the imperialism it’s trying to disguise.

Turkey’s still going to be doing a balancing act between Russia and NATO no matter who gets elected. It’s reasonable for him to warn Russia against interference, especially since he’s running ahead of Erdoğan right now. If elected amidst Russian interference, he could make a lot of trouble for Russia. And speaking of imperialism, election interference is a form of imperialism.

I hope Erdoğan gets his ass handed to him in these elections. He was a positive force for Türkiye once upon a time, but that time has passed. Now he just fuels inflation, not to mention his lax building code enforcement was a large cause of the poor building construction that led to high casualty rates in the recent earthquake. He’s become increasingly autocratic, including changes that allow him to rule by decree. It’s time for someone new.

I hope so too, but realistically he’ll just claim the elections were rigged by Russia or something, and use it as justification to seize more power.

He’s already laying the groundwork for this lie here

Which he are you talking about? This is the leading opposition candidate who is claiming Russian interference.

Yeah that’s why in case he lose he will immediately claim russian interference (as if Erdogan needed any help with that) to butter up his NATO masters and manufacture some consent for possible coup in Turkey.
