    If this is not a copypasta it is very impressive as far as replies go - and on that platform too! Either way it’s spot on. Anarchism, libertarianism, these are all ideologies born of petty bourgeois idealism.

      I do not know much of Gus Hall other than he was chairman of the CPUSA for a long while. I believe this to be an excellent insight into the ebb and flow of petty bourgeois radical currents in the U.S. specifically, their dangers, as well as a more generalized deconstruction of petty bourgeois radical movements like anarchism, Maoism and Trotskyism. On Maoism - this was written in 1970, so its criticism is mostly laid at the feet of Mao proper and MZT style Maoists rather than what we know of as “MLM”, but much of it still applies today. I like it.

    The left and right not being a thing undermines the brilliance they go on to explain later on regarding the anarchists preposition entering topics of debate. They should study the French Revolution. I did enjoy this comment though
