Likely related to the Dominion settlement. Will he pop up at OAN or Newsmax, spewing the same material but with less editorial controls? How much of his audience would follow him?

“One Fox News insider said the decision was made by Murdoch himself. They expressed sympathy for the ousted Fox host: ‘Rupert is 92. He just called off a weeks-long engagement and settled for 800 mil so he wouldn’t have to go to Delaware. He just makes rash decisions.’”

Murdoch knows exactly how his bread is buttered and will shitcan anyone who puts his revenue stream in jeopardy. This wasn’t a rash decision, just corporate politics at its finest.

Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving slimeball. I’m all for press freedom, but not defamation.

You’re really that upset on behalf of voting machine companies?
Like wow, spreading hate is all good with me, but hurting Dominion Inc.'s PR? That’s where I draw the line!

I’m upset that he and Fox are part of ripping the country apart with their lies about the election, and I’m happy that they are seeing consequences.

Like wow, spreading hate is all good with me

I’m not happy with hate speech, but I don’t think it should be illegal. I’m extremely wary of restrictions on any speech besides defamation. It’s far too easy to shield the powerful from consequences, rewrite history, or enforce ideological conformity.

To show the two sides, take Europe. In much of Europe, neo-Nazi speech and groups are banned, which is a constitutional violation in the US. But then Poland went a step beyond that and outlawed discussion of the Polish people being complicit or involved in the Nazi occupation. This is definitely an attempt to rewrite history, since there is documentation of some Poles being involved in the occupation.

Saying an election was rigged is not the same thing as defamation though. That’s not why Fox was sued.

Edit: Plus every election is rigged
