everyone’s playing a game of “get as close to saying the thing as you can without saying it” - this is our entire political structure, a good chunk of our academic structure, and the culture of the day to day everywhere. it’s exhausting but it’s the last thing you’ll ever see vanish - it just runs that deep
It’ll vanish real fast once the rest of humanity gives the west the solid and thorough trashing they deserve tbh, and I don’t expect it’ll disappear until then (it’ll only get worse till it finally forces the solution).
