Remember, EM POC only!

I’m a very tired Angel right now. It’s about to be 2 AM, but since it’s Monday, I might as well go ahead and get up this EM POC weekly thread.

You know how it goes! Any EM POC vibes are welcome here.

Tim Burton not seeing Black people in his vision, or whatever the quote was, is back in discourse and I’m irked. What are we even talking about anymore? Are we saying we want people who was likely never around much Black people to suddenly have them in their media? Because thats how we get Front Room and Imaginary. Convoluted messes of stories that make so sense.

There is something to say about Burton using this as an opportunity to add more Black people in his circle and expand his vision but until then, leave us alone! I’m tired of seeing Black people in movies where the character was clearly written for a white person, like in Front Room. Why would a Black Woman think you’re lying about your racist mama?? It makes no sense, if my white partner told me his family is racist, I’m believing them no questions asked.
