I went and read the article. Basically the author is saying China lifts people out of poverty. China is capitalist. Capitalism lifts people out of poverty. If Africa would just become capitalist too instead of their current economic model, they too would become rich. The global north doesn’t need to make any changes because it’s already capitalist.
How someone with such a poor economics understanding was featured on Forbes is anyone’s guess. My guess is that it’s indicative of Forbes’ economic and geopolitical understanding.
