It’s such a common take that I’ve see it here, usually something like “obviously religion is why we have endless war” with the implication that if only everyone was atheist with no other changes wars would disappear in a cloud of euphoria.
EDIT: I misread your post, but while standing by what I said, I also agree that it’s pretty common to blame lack of religion for whatever societal problems the religion enjoyer wants to blame.
