Well you can find solace in that this isn’t even the most appalling gaffe I’ve seen on this subject, lol.
I’ve lived on my own since 2019 and been out to my parents for over a decade, just never seen a skirt I really liked and no reason to search for one. So no pity really :)

There’s a lot of skirts I don’t like anyway, but luckily I like the stereotypical trans flowy ones and adjacent. If that’s not your thing, cool.
