Someone asked me recently if I could think of any country that’s suffered a greater hit to its reputation from being connected to the internet than India.
It went from being known by most people for spirituality, yoga, and great food to being associated with scam calls, online sex pests, and delusional nationalists.
One just needs to look at the difference between India and China to compare the effectiveness of capitalism and socialism. Socialism seems to be winning by a landslide.

it’s partially Indian people’s fault for referring to themselves as “Indian” first instead of their actual ethnicity
if someone asks me what ethnicity I am I’d always just say Marathi/Tamil/etc first. Not my fault if they’re too dumb to know what that is
