how ordinary Gazans could look the other way as innocent men and women are held hostage in their midst?

Probably because of all the fucking IOF bombing is a bigger priority. Just a guess.

A guy broke into my home the other day, took me hostage and my home for himself; now I could’ve chosen to be the villain in all this and fight back, but I chose to do the right thing and just rolled over and died. God forbid I should be a burden on my home invader or the other squatters he invites to live in my home over the corpses of my loved ones.

The fact that holding hostages is not far enough to deter Isranazis from slaughtering Palestinians only serves to prove that almost nothing is too far when you’re dealing with fucking Nazis that are even willing to kill their own people if it serves their goals

“how ordinary Gazans could look the other way as innocent men and women are held hostage in their midst”

The Gazans are themselves hostages; everyone living in Gaza is a literal hostage of the Israeli government. The people being held by Hamas? Literally living on land owned by Gazans. Home invaders don’t own the homes they invade; didn’t think that needed saying and yet here we are.

If only Hamas was repeatedly offering a deal for a ceasefire the freeing of all hostages (including the actual thousands of Gazan hostages in Isntreal).

one would think the world would slam Hamas for endangering civilians.

Yes, we need to condemn Hamas for putting Israeli bombing objectives (the hostages) in civilian areas.

How could Hamas be held to more account? Grind the bones of the dead, hurl the dust into a river and burn the river?

Just a reminder, in this ‘heroic rescue’, they not only dressed up as Palestinian civilians, they also shot and killed every single person (including women and children) they encountered and bombed the surrounding blocks, also killing 3 other hostages. The death count as of this moment is as low as 100 and as high as 274, most of them children.

It’s so interesting how when you just blatantly ignore context, you can paint an absolutely, wholely unnecessary, disastrous, slaughterhouse operation as ‘heroic’
