America is essentially forced into cleaning up the mess because their agent, The Boss, stole american nukes (davy crockett recoilless rifles) to give to the badguy after she defected. (of course, spoilers ensue and nothing is as simple as it seems) but in today’s political climate i could easily see a less principled team trying to shoehorn in some messages about how evil russians are and especially how evil the soviet communists were.
