Personally as someone from the PCMR crowd, I think console is great for convenience. If you want something that works out if the box, that’s the where console shines. The problem with console is entirely due to the companies who produce the consoles, especially due to shit like planned obsolescence.

I have way to much to do with IT. I love programming and do it a lot and also the same amount of sysop stuff. And I am sick of it to fix games on the PC if there are problems. The cause can be anything but I am actually way to tired to make things work if I just want to play. So I stopped playing at all. With a console a can focus on playing a game and nothing more.

Not every game is available on console. But thats ok, at least I dont have to debug something.

Consoles are perfectly fine. They’re cheaper than PCs that will perform as well, a lot of people don’t care about modding all that much and like playing with a controller. For these reasons (not the price one) they’re just not for me. The games I play the most are the ones I mod the heaviest. I absolutely abhor using controllers, I never managed to get used to them.

That said if the main issue is convenience a tablet or just the phone might be better suited for many genres.

No doubt about it. A lot of my favourites are near broken as they’re distributed and need fixes, others can use a bit of flavour regardless.

How about yourself? You said you were from the PCMR crowd so you must’ve modded the hell out of some games.
