I only just now thought about the almost impossible to miss messaging of that children’s book: “If you give anything to someone else they’ll take and take and never stop demanding more.”
Sure, that can apply in some contexts ( :porky-happy: ) but unless someone’s take changes my mind about I think the message is fucked up.

It is not about the mouse, which is just a manifestation of the young mind. It’s about the imagination of the child running wild, tearing up the house, etc. It’s a testament to the boundless energy of children.
Isn’t the end of the book about how you made a friend? Or something? I don’t remember.
It felt like the narrator was always getting opportunities to give cool gifts to the mouse.
