Better late then never! Remember, Mothers Day is coming up!
My allergies were driving me nutty this morning. Picked up some meds for it while we were doing errands and took some. Didn’t realize it would cause drowsiness, total zombie for most of the day. 🫠 felt bad cause Kid1 was really trying to engage with me this evening and I was just fading. Def not doing that again!
Aw fuck mothers day. I gotta arrange something with the kid. I’ve got nothing ideas wise.
In hopefullly unrelated news: the kid apparently learned about moonshine at his dad’s over the weekend.
“Learned” as in, now knows what moonshine is or as in, now knows how moonshine tastes? Also glad the reminder is saving someone here haha.
“Is now aware of the existence of”. I’m like 99% sure.
My pre-schooler’s best buddy is moving away later this summer and it’s so tough to try to explain it to her. Sure, she’ll make other friends, but these two are so cute when they play together 😭
Aw 😢 that’s tough.
Good book with this theme called “in a jar”
I actually ordered that one yesterday lol
It’s really sweet, one of our favorites. You will like it
Nooooo.
Is anyone aware of a good alternative to the boy scouts, particularly that’s available in the US south outside of a major city? I don’t know how much they’ve actually gotten better over the past decade, but I still don’t like the whole paramilitary thing. I went for a few years growing up, and I think a lot of the stuff I learned there was useful, but I don’t know if I want to send my son into it in a few years when he’s old enough. I could teach him that stuff myself, but I think the social setting would be good, provided it’s in the right context
I don’t have a direct answer to your question, but I did see today that they are changing their name to “Scouting America”. I never did Boy Scouts growing up, but my family was very into camping when we were kids. It was resort camping mostly, but it was still fun.
Yeah I did happen to see that, that’s what made me think to ask lol. It does seem like they’ve improved a lot since I was in, but there’s a few core aspects that I’m still not a big fan of. My son is only a year old, so I have plenty of time before I would actually need to pick something lol
In a post somewhat related to my previous post
Opinions on serving alcohol at an event ostensibly about the child? Confirmation, graduations, bar mitzvah, birthdays, etc?
I think it’s fine, but I usually leave it as a BYOB situation. These days Im never really in the mood to drink.
I’ve become heavily against it for just how much attention it takes away from the children, and also because drunk adults are literally the worst company for children.
I think those are totally valid reasons.
Are you willing to serve as testimony the next time I have the conflict?
Haha you can quote me!
