I tried watching the Fallout show and turned it off a couple of minutes after the first gigantic plot hole (Lucy put on her Pipboy to detect radiation and figure out Monty was a surface-dweller but literally everyone was wearing PipBoys when they opened the vault and for the entire wedding party)

Honestly, I don’t consider that a problem. The Vault dwellers are shown to be incredibly naive and have zero security protocols because they don’t have contact with the outside world, only with other Vault dwellers. So I don’t see why they would check other ‘Vault’ dwellers before a joyous occasion like a wedding. Simply put, the only reason the Vault dwellers are alive is because most people think they are dead. Most of them wouldn’t survive on the surface.

That said I have only watched the first 2 episodes so I cant talk much about the quality of the show ( I did have fun with the first 2 episodes though)

It’s a plot hole. They should know who the people in Vault 32 are. They do this sort of exchange every 3 years. You’d even expect people from Vault 33 who’ve married over to return, and the leader of Vault 33 should’ve been massively confused who tf this new lady in charge of vault 32 was.

You literally cannot turn the geiger counter off on a PipBoy in the games, and “literally everyone in the vault was so stupid that nobody had their geiger counter on even accidentally” is a bridge too far. Also, if they were that naive, there’s no way Lucy would be able to connect the dots there. And how the fuck did they survive for two centuries without being cautious about radioactivity?

It’s fine if the characters are stupid and do stupid things. It’s not okay if logic itself is just not considered.

idk just because you can’t turn the geiger counter off in the game doesn’t mean you can’t do it. NPCs always talk about doing stuff with your pipboy that you can never do in game like open doors and do scans and shit. Like all the data retrieval missions like the one where you go to the vault with the plant people imply that the pipboy has some sort of file system but you never get to see it yourself or look at the files.

idk I didn’t watch the episode. but I don’t think the vault dwellers are that sensitive to radiation considering we have multiple instances of them going out into the surface and not dying.

I binge watched the first 5 episodes last night… as an old school fallout fan I really enjoyed it. It’s dumb, it’s fun, the violence is violent the sets are amazing and the humor is chefs kiss
