Some month or two ago the Belgian government decided to give a multi million dollar contract to BYD to build hundreds of buses in their Hungarian factory. The reason? Mostly because they were cheaper. And now 1100 people will be out of a job and the company will possibly declare bankruptcy within a month.
All this crucial knowledge that we can use to produce more eco friendly buses for public transport will be lost and Belgium will have to not only look for a foreign company to build new buses, they will also have to pay 1100 people unemployment benefits.
