Thank you for the well-written reply, I would like to second you.
This attitude “YO YOU BETTER FIGURE IT OUT FOR ME OTHERWISE I WON’T BLESS YOUR NETWORK WITH MY PRESENCE.”
Seriously, it’s just an entitled user, not at all an issue of a single Lemmy admin.
Migrating posts over seems reasonable to me. If you want to migrate people, you got to migrate content and lemmy is bereft of content.

What? No it doesn’t.
A lot of the value of subs, especially technical subs, is their backlog of content, usually technical help etc. That doesn’t sound like what this person was doing though. They were just trying to get the initial recent content over. Which you can say “No it doesn’t make sense” and I can say “I think it make senses” all day until we’re blue in the face.
No it isn’t.
Astounding rhetoric.

And that annoying attitude is why they will forever be fucked over by any tech company or snake oil salesman.
So someone scripted post spam in the name of migration and got salty that they were treated like spam. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was through an automated processes during all the intentional spam instances we’re getting.
Very much agree with others here, dude should’ve tried to have a conversation with admins and stop spamming old content.
The dude in question included their intention to move stuff in their application for an account.
Also lack of content is an issue on lemmy right now. We need more people posting.

we also cant possibly know which of these are astroturfing reddit admins.
how many comms Ever get deleted outright, but this guy had 3 on separate instances?! bullshit.
I agree. This cant happen, especially not without explanation/discussion.
But I didnt catch what the communities were either, did you? Be a shame if it was something like white_supremacist_tech_support or something.
Especially ml where you have your account isnt keen on views from the other end of the political spectrum afaik. Nothing wrong with that but just saying. World is very mainstream and maybe they just triggered something.
Not saying thats what happened, just trying to think of reasons and possible solutions.
I could see people not wanting someone to post 30 times in a short time. It’s not hard to keep up with the Lemmy new feed so it gets a bit annoying when a bot starts blasting.
As a side note, it’s pretty funny to see people responding to posts like they’re being specifically targeted. I remember some dude posted a question in “foo” and another dude was like “idk I’ve never used foo”
I found that funny af
I call bullshit.
It’s not that easy being free Having to wonder if you picked the right instance When I think it could be nicer being Zucked or Musked or Spez’d - or something much more profitable like that.
It’s not easy being free. It seems you vibe with so many other federated things. And people tend to pass you over 'cause you’re not standing out like influencers in the feeds - or big brands in the web.
But free’s the color of fedi. And free can be cool and friendly-like. And free can be big like an ocean, or dank like a meme, or round like a blobcat.
When free is all there is to be It could make you wonder why, but why wonder why? Wonder, I am federated and it’ll do fine, it’s pretty good most of the time!
And I think it’s what I want to be.
