I haven’t finished, but I remember people being worried for the show since the departure of the one man orchestra whose name I don’t remember, but he did voice acting and writing.

The show has been by far the best this season. The voice acting difference is kinda weird, but I am actually so happy more people get to have a career. One man orchestra is impressive, but as someone who had aspirations to be a voice actor, I’ll always appreciate more people being able to practice the craft.

It’s so good. Makes me wish I had my Rick and Morty tee still. (I lost some of my fav comfort shirts when I didn’t have the mobility to take them off after multiple surgeries I had, so I cut them off of myself and I didn’t rebuy, because the prices are uncomfortable, RIP John Wick tee from AliExpress)

Season 7 was very good in my opinion. It felt fresh and new, which is rare for the 7th season of a show. From what I’ve read, Justin Roiland had basically stopped writing for the show by the end of his tenure. I don’t know if any other part of the writing team changed between seasons but going from the travesty that was season 5 to what was very clearly Dan Harmon behind the wheel for season 6 and now and excellent season 7, I’m glad he’s out.

Also I have MS and this season gave me a new catchphrase:

I’d say every season makes sense on its own for you to figure out what happened. This said, I feel like season 7 (and 6) are heavily for people who watched it before, so you may not enjoy it as much.

I enjoyed the first season when it aired but completely lost interest after season 2. But I did watch the first episode of the new season out of curiosity and to hear the new voice actor, and it was alright. Could have been a lot worse for an episode called “How Poopy Got His Poop Back”, but I think I’ve grown out of that sense of humor.

It does kinda feel like the show only still exists because it’s popular and makes the network money like the Simpsons. None of the current writers were involved in creating the show so it’s no longer a passion project (which is of course for the best, since the creator is an abusive creep). But I think it’s been like that for years anyway, if I understand correctly Roiland wasn’t involved creatively in the show for the past several seasons anyway.
