Gone are the times when CV was enough. Now they want you to make an account to apply to their jobs. I had some jobs requiring me to fill in extensive brain-dead tests without anyone even having a glance at my CV. I mean, people don’t even really look at your CVs, do they? Now everything gets AI filtered. I got rejected from a position I believe I was overqualified for in ~5 minutes from applying. I had an interview today and I’d love to get the job, but I was sent a very overcomplicated form which is basically a retelling of my CV after the allegedly read through my CV and we had an interview where they could’ve asked me anything, which also features a references list! Why? It terrifies me they’d contact my employer and if they don’t hire me, which I assume they won’t, I’ll be seen as unloyal and therefore most likely to get overlooked when it comes to any promotions and whatnot. I hate it so much. I just want to work. Make me do work related exercises, not stuff for HR, please. PLEASE. PweAssseEEe. :cccccccc

The thing to understand with these overly complicated application processes, ridiculous tests, and AI filtering is that they exist not to ensure the highest quality candidate but rather to give hiring managers and HR departments plausible deniability. It’s there so if a new hire ends up being a liability they can say “oh we used the latest AI analysis! We made them do brain teasers like Google does!” It’s fault avoidance. Just think of it as a system to game.

Interesting. I always thought they use it because they’re both lazy and want to get the candidates who have the lowest self respect who will put up with that shit (me rn btw).
