Oooops! Seriously, why apologize if you can draw robust comparisons that withstand fair scrutiny?

Honestly, it’s a disservice to both. They’re both individually horrible and deserve to be recognized as such.

“the holocaust” as a name is meant to only apply to the one we all think about. Its name was chosen for that reason.

This is not a defence of Israel at all, but what the Nazis did was, unfortunately but truly, much worse which is why it deserves that name.

There’s nothing to prevent anyone coining an equally descriptive epithet for what Israel are doing.

They just did the same thing to Masha Gessen who expertly drew comparisons to the ghettos of wwII.

Don’t you understand? The Holocaust is uniquely horrible because it killed Europeans.

When American countries did the exact same thing to the indigenous population, no one cared, and now that Israel is doing it to an indigenous population history is repeating itself. If we refuse to learn from history Gaza will cease to exist. Don’t ever apologize.

The Holocaust targeted many ethnicities: Jews, Poles, Russians, Romani…

    Israel’s actions target one.
