I’m confused where I should consistently posting things and it makes it harder to have a mega. Maybe one could be more slice of life, and the other more theoretical/political? Personally I would like both in one place.

we’re not gonna be removing any posts that arent memes, mostly because this place is so active (and in fact is the most active trans place on lemmy) and it sucks to ask for help and only get 1 or 2 comments while theres a party going on in the other comm. maybe if it gets too active we might start splitting posts out. but yeah i feel like the comm names make things a little harder to understand the purpose of each area. idk.

im mostly using this spot as a place to collect trans people so i can direct resources around to help people irl and i figured a meme comm would help bring more people here

does this mean you’re looking for help with mods? i’ve been kicking about on hexbear for a few months I could help out if you are

considering how small the community here I am fine with the comms consolidating, rhe only issue I have with traaaaaans is my memories of the mods from reddit lol

Part of it is that some people only know this comm exists. I genuinely didn’t even know Hexbear had the non-meme comm and I’m guessing other federated people might not either

Here’s a post that explains why this will likely never happen, and why it shouldn’t happen. However, I’m not an admin so this isn’t a fullu accurate response. https://hexbear.net/post/1683539

This is something with the makeup of a controversial post with tons of information that has no entertainment value. We are decidedly a more fun sub than trans_enbyliberation, and that’s how it should be. Trans people deal with a ton of shit that requires theory to handle emotionally, but sometimes we want to shut our brains off and be fun. Sometimes we want to lean into that theory side. The post above is a great post in one community, but would be questionable in another. I think condensing the trans community of Hexbear into one community would be bad.

I could make a decent “fake news” style post on /c/traa and I think most people here would be okay with it as long as it was actually funny. Transenby_liberation doesn’t give that space, and we do. I think it’s good to have a split between users as long as it’s fully organic. Some people don’t want the uwu catgirl memes that are attached to this community but are still trans, and that’s okay. We’re a more fun sub community, and that’s how it should be imo
