Is Steam Deck Linux (the new Arch based Steam OS) a distro I can download now? I just tried ChimeraOS (Formerly GamerOS) and it’s pretty neat.

Are you going for a console-like setup, or do you use the PC for other than gaming? I’ve yet to try ChimeraOS, what sets it apart from a traditional distro running Steam Big Picture?

This device in particular I want to be more console-like. It boots straight into Steam big picture, not unlike a console.

Heck yeah, although hopefully eventually it’s the Windows side that’ll need a specific community to it.

It is sad that Linux people praise Valve for taking open-source projects into their monolithic DRM platform, with malware like functionality. Yes they contribute to the projects too, but only enough to keep people using their platform instead bothering or being able to DIY use…

If the videos and stuff is anything to go by, it seems we will see a proper update to Steam Big Picture as well with this new device. That’s something I’ve been looking forward to for a while!
