The China-Laos Railway is a key project under the Belt and Road Initiative. It’s also a landmark in bilateral cooperation and a symbol of friendship between the two countries. As of June, it is estimated to have transported well over 3 million passengers within China and Laos and around 4 million tonnes of freight. Yeah the work in the tunnel looked so daunting with all the flooding. I’m glad they showed that part. I also was interested in the parts where they explained how they tried to make the design of the tracks better for the safety and well-being of the nearby elephant populations by raising the tracks higher and soundproofing it.
