Welp now I’ve got another writer to look into. Might be more hard-commie than anarchist, but I don’t like taking up sigils and designs unless I know where they’re from and what they mean-- “chaos as a cosmological” sounds like it’s up my alley honestly.

He’s kind of an asshole, unfortunately. He’s spent the last 30 years calling Grant Morrison a thief because they put a two page parody of one of his stories in The Invisibles.

I can’t entirely blame him, either. He influenced SF/Fantasy on a deep level and he’s surprisingly unknown outside of some hardcore circles. That said, my last look at his blog was far more chill than the kind of shit I’ve seen Leslie Fish type out.

His books are pretty decent. They’re pulp fantasy but in a more interesting way compared to other pulp fantasy. Chaos is still often depicted as a villainous force in them but it’s less cut and dry compared to his derivatives. Particularly since Order is also included as the opposite and isn’t presented as being (that much) better.

There’s also a lot of them, I’d recommend reading a synopsis of each main story he wrote then picking the one that interests you the most to start with. They’re all mostly self contained but he also popularised the use of multiverses in fiction to do some crossovers between the different series.
