It isn’t a “distraction” it is a front, to extend the war analogy. The attitude arguing the culture war doesn’t exist doesn’t mean you are above it, it just mean you are abandoning your comrades who are under attack.
Culture War is used by the Ruling class to distract from the Class war, the only way to win the Culture War is to win the Class War.
