You can walk around a whole city without stepping a foot outside so how is that not good urban planning?
The biggest equity problem with skyways is private ownership. If the skyways were municipal some of the biggest issues would go away. There is a bit of a problem with street life being kind of dead at the ground level, but I don’t think that justifies ripping out skyways either.

The problem some people have with them is that they make the roads less pedestrian friendly by virtue of being a better alternative to walking on the sidewalk.
