    The old analogy of starting from third base then declaring they hit a homerun. “I took a small million dollar loan and turned it into two million through tax write-offs, government subsidies and contracts. I’m a business genius.”

      And it’s not necessarily something as glaring as a large amount of money from the parents. Education, stability, knowing that they will always have a next meal, a neighborhood that isn’t going to encourage them to grow a rap sheet, a professional network. All sorts of things can give people are a leg up, or at least decline to sink them.

    Rich people love predatory practices until they’re the victim of an even more cutthroat predator, then suddenly they cry about how it’s not fair.
