minus-squareAmarkuntheGathererlinkfedilinkarrow-up4·11 months agoI don’t recall the exact rules of emphasis in english, but IIRC contractions de-emphasise the verb, which sounds (and meaningfully is) off in a sentence that’s supposed to emphasise it.
I’ve seen someone type out “it’s what it’s”, which is like…technically sound, but weird to read.
