How is it apathetic to not distance myself from my friend and keep debating with him that his worldview is completely wrong? How will he every change his view if no one talks to him?
I don’t care about your friend. If you want to be a lecturer in a re-education camp that’s all fine with me, but what you’re advocating for is dangerous. You’re choosing to obstruct the most successful method of dealing with fascism of all time because of an edge case. I can’t tell you if your friend can be reasoned out of fascism, but I can tell you that if you don’t hurry up he’s either going to hurt somebody or somebody will deal with him for you.
We do not and never will have handlers for every single fascist on the planet. If you don’t have actual solutions you should get out of the way before someone thinks you’re more than a sympathizer.
