Republican efforts to impeach President Joe Biden suffered a blow after fresh evidence emerged showing his bid to remove Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin in 2015 represented U.S. government policy.

That’s Reddit, though. Readers literally might NOT have known it was there: I honestly would not be surprised if your comments were simply being quietly removed, especially on the larger subs. You probably didn’t trigger automod, but that you triggered rightwing snowflakes on those miles-long mod lists is beyond doubt, no matter how well supported or sourced your comments were.

I can’t even tell you how many [removed] comments I saw with thousands of upvotes and multiple awards on subs like r/news and r/politics. If some asshole didn’t like it, it was gone, even when going by upvotes/awards it was arguably the best content in the thread. So don’t sweat it, say it here instead.

That’s what I love about Lemmy: you can say whatever you like about Russia or Ukraine and as long as it does not break community rules, it just . . . stays up. That is amazing to me, after so many years of not even realizing how hard I was self-censoring. There are still trolls and tankies here, but they’re not in charge of the rules anymore.
