Creepypastas/Nosleep stories get a bad rap but there are some extremely well-written ones IMO. Some have even been turned into full novels by the author.
Some of my favourites inline with your specified themes include “1999”, “Penpal”, “The Horror from the Vault”, and “I Dared My Best Friend to Ruin My Life”
Anyone know of an active lemmy community for nosleep stories? I used to read the subreddit all the time, every once in a while you could really catch a gem digging through all the trash.
