I’ve recently had to argue with a “VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET” type and it went nowhere because that’s the kind of blame-the-masses bullshit that people like him believe: that asking individual consumers to save the world (or much more likely, not save the world) with their consumer choices is a good idea and that if the wallets vote otherwise, oh well, at least they can feel smart and superior as the planet continues to burn.

it’s only getting worse… now you can “donate” a few dollars when you take a flight to “help offset” ask those carbon emissions you caused
this is really going to be a nutty world in a few more years where every action you take will cost x amount per some magical carbon impact algorithms
